You’ll find many mastering services that offer cheaper prices, however there are many inexperienced people offering to master your songs without having the proper equipment or experience. Being a mastering engineer comes with years or decades worth of experience fine tuning audio, troubleshooting, learning, and honing your skills. You’ve worked hard perfecting your music, you want a pro to master it. Don’t leave it up to an algorithm service.
I have been working in the music industry composing, mixing, and now mastering songs since 2001, engineered at top studios in the San Francisco Bay Area, and worked with major artists. I’ve worked for and with many different record labels, am the AV Director for Halcyon SF (San Francisco’s World Class nightclub where I test my masters), and have created my own electronic music for over two decades. My abilities as a mix and mastering engineer have come from years of striving to create the highest quality music possible. Now I’d like to help you get that same quality.
I primarily mix and master electronic music (house, techno, breaks, minimal, etc), however I’ve worked on lots of hip hop, trap, and indie rock music as well.
I do both stereo mastering and stem mixing/mastering of singles or albums. Stem mastering requires a bit more preparation on your end but can result in a higher quality overall product. A stereo master is the final version of your song, so it’s crucial that you remove any limiters, EQ, compression, etc from your master channel and ensure that the highest peaks of your song hit -3db or less.
If you’d like stem mastering, please make a zip folder of all your stems and use WeTransfer to send it to mastering@scottbrio.com. If you’re unsure how to make stems of your music, watch my tutorial:
